About Instagram: •
"The first camera I ever owned (pictured on the left) was a gift from my father, a Kodak Instamatic 124. The camera was manufactured between 1968 and 1971; he owned it for a long time before I was born, and handed it to me around 1981 when I was only 7 years old.

No one could have predicted back then that "Kodak's Insta" would inspire something like Instagram today.

Having used all photographic formats big and small since acquiring that old toy -(and even though nothing will replace my love for a real sturdy pro camera)-, it is handy to shoot pictures with a smartphone (-especially with all the megapixels they fit on them!).

My Instagram account works parallel to the already established Facebook Page -(which I honestly use much less). The idea on my IG handle is to embrace randomness, and for you to get a peek behind daily scenes: Lots of iPhone shots, and many other moments captured with all of the other camera formats I work with".

Miguel Gómez.

Amphibia *

On August 20th, 2011 the portrait photograph "Amphibia" -shot for the 6th Black & White Spider Awards was nominated as a finalist in the Fine Art / Portrait Category.

Special thanks to Britta Arendes, who endured the sitting/session with a good amount of professionalism and patience (despite the amounts of cold water used), and to the world-class jury of the competition.

Congrats as well to all other participants from all over the world.
